My default PDF viewer keeps defaulting back to Adobe Pro on my Windows 10 machine

If you want to use any other PDF tool other than Adobe Pro, someone from the service desk will need to remote in to assist with this configuration change.

Problem/Question

On a Windows 10 computer, I have changed my PDF tool to something other than Adobe Pro, but after rebooting, it changes back to Adobe Pro

In an attempt to standardize the tools ADS uses, this setting has been configured on the local group policy level.

Solution

Open gpedit.msc - Computer config > Admin templates > Windows comp > File Explorer > "Set a default associations configuration file"  

The configuration setting is Enabled, you will want to set to Disabled.
